Mike Says

Of all the celebrities who have passed during my lifetime, it's is Phil Hartman's untimely death that still makes me sad.

There's a rustlin' 'round them Conhugeco Films parts 'bout some new video projects they's be undertakin'.  Shucks, I don't know much about how it works, but I sure do like it when they're done.  What's coming up?

  • 24 - The Musical!  — A short semi-animated film of the musical realisation of TV's 24.  Jack Bauer is in it again when all of America (mainly Los Angeles) is going to be destroyed by a thousand nuclear bombs packed with bio-weapons and terrorists.  Jack gets killed, but comes back to life.  Everyone else dies.
  • "Cumana" Short Film — Two office workers are pitted against each other to complete an important report before a 4pm deadline.  Set to the song Cumana, this fast-paced short is like a live-action cartoon.
  • Hey Hey Hey! Video — A video for Mike Hightower's song Hey Hey Hey!  Features Bob Ross and a monster named The Gerard.

HOW YOU CAN HELP:  If you are in the Chicago area and would like to be involved, please click the Contact link on the top of the page and send an e-mail.  In particular, I need a nice office location (with cubicals) for Cumana and a stage or set with a black backdrop for Hey Hey Hey.  Oh, I also need a job, so if you've got one of those availabe, let me know.  Please.

A Really Brief History of the Universe E-mail
Monday, 12 February 2007 01:47

Featuring animations by NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center Scientific Visualization Studio and an original soundtrack by moi. This was originally made for a presentation at work to introduce our new Oracle server in a meeting. I went a bit over the top with it.

The ending part is pretty Philip Glass-y, but I don't feel too guilty about that. I mean, arpeggiated flutes playing close changes is always going to be like Philip Glass. And hey, it worked for John Adams....

Baby Got Back - Gilbert and Sullivan Style E-mail
Monday, 12 February 2007 01:47

The advent of time warp technology offered to Knights of the British Empire has allowed this uniquely satisfying look at Sirs Gilbert and Sullivan's re-envisioning of fellow Sir Mix-A-Lot's Baby Got Back. O! What a joy it is for us to hear these three titans working in concert for the first time, and hopefully not the last.

Score/Retro-editing: Mike Hightower

The Aristocrats! - Edited for TV E-mail
Monday, 12 February 2007 01:53

Hey kids! Wish mom and dad would let you see The Aristocrats movie?! Well now you can, because this version of an Aristocrats sketch has been edited for TV broadcast, and all the grown-up words have been censored. Finally you can stop talking to creepy adults online, and just watch them.

Background: This was our losing entry for Think! Films' Be An Aristocrat! video contest. We lost! The uncensored version shall not be available publicly, which is fine, because this one makes me laugh more. Wish I'd thought of it earlier.
